As time passes, the handles on your doors will get worn out and will require replacement. It is important to be able to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.

The top screw's position, the lever and the keyhole dimensions are the three measurements you have to determine. Use the size guide to assistance in this.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever handle is a contemporary door handle designed to suit new or replacement doors. This style of handle is available in many styles and finishes. This handle is offered by several manufacturers, including Avocet ERA Fullex Hoppe Mila Millenco Yale.

Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle

The handles made of uPVC/Composite are made from durable materials, and are ideal for multi-point lock doors that require a robust design. The handles are inline and work from the same spindle and screw fixings so they can be easily incorporated into new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.

The handle can be positioned and angled to accommodate the needs of all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200,000 cycles. This helps ensure that the quality of finish and performance over time. The sprung lever is adjustable to fit a broad range of locks. This is useful for narrower doors where the cylinder is further away from the door.  upvc door handles  can be used for doors with latches that can be opened by the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently than lever handles found on most doors. The handle can operate from a single spindle (inline) or independently from each side using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are typically used on UPVC double glazed doors and are available in a variety of variations and styles.

The handles are available in various finishes, including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is compliant with BS EN 1670:2007 Grade 5 and is also resistant to corrosion, thereby giving the handle a high degree of durability and performance for its intended use.

All UPVC lever pads for handles come with a spindle, screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The 211mm backplate fixing centres permit a bigger size of handle which can be beneficial in replacing a defective or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, which solves the issue of handles that slide from their horizontal position when not in use.

It is crucial to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when choosing a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called 'handle centres or cylinder centre'. It is important for matching the correct handles.

Once you have decided on the correct size of PZ and the correct PZ size, you must make sure that the push and lever pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. They are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.

The majority of UPVC lever pads that we sell are sprung, meaning that they return to their horizontal position when they are not being used, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This helps prevent the draughts and cold air from entering a property. Also, the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are handed which allows you to place them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of doors. They work by using a key to unlock a cylinder case which will reveal pins that can be aligned to those in the lock body and permitting them to turn a revolving cam, thus opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with external and internal doors typically needing different levels of security.

Choosing the right cylinder is essential; it is dependent on the way your doors and handles are used. For example, external doors require a more secure cylinder whilst internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders come with additional features that increase security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn should there be one. It is best to do this with the lock in place however, if this is not possible, you can take it off to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be vulnerable to attacks such as snapping locks, so it is essential to make sure it's not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a different direction. This will help to prevent attacks and ensure your doors are secure.

There are also cylinders that have been constructed to withstand snapping. This is a common occurrence on cylinders. A specially designed tool is used to break the break line of the lock and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can hinder the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located in the base of your door handle's backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. The addition of this simple element is among the best ways to correct this and it is also an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as they are not always easy to manually close by hand.

These spring cassettes were created to be used with a spring multipoint lock. They are not compatible with handles that aren't sprung and you'll need to cut a hole in your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please see the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for existing broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of the door handle for numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They are supplied in one unit. They have a square-cut out that is able to accommodate an 8mm shaft.

These spring cassettes are a great cost-effective solution to the issue of door handles that are sliding. They are easy to fit and will increase the life span of your uPVC doors.
